Le Marche region are still maintaining medieval towns almost intact, if you’re a fan of Middle Ages here are some compulsory places to visit:

Serra De’ Conti

This fortified city of the medieval/Renaissance period, offers to those who visit it suggestive views and balconies within its walls and villages, Serra de ‘Conti is famous for its Museum of Monastic Arts, for the Festa della Cicerchia and for the “Black Night”, a unique event for the quality of the performances and cultural events. It takes place from the 3rd week of August, and it is an event that you cannot miss!


A Medieval city famous for its 15th century fortifications, 1 km long and practically intact defense walls. The evocative staircase with the water well that every year in July becomes the scene of the famous Festival Del Pozzo della Polenta. Furthermore, in November Corinaldo becomes the scene of the most terrifying Halloween party.


A Charming place, where one can visit the Malatesta castle scene of tragic love story between Paolo and Francesca. Tragic love story sung by the most important poets.


A town that consists of 8 medieval castles: Castiglioni, Palazzo, Caudino, Piticchio, Montale, San Pietro, Loretello e Nidastore.


A medieval town that is the scene of an important medieval festival, from 17th to 24th July with music, poetry, stands, jugglers and minstrels.
