Le Marche region are still maintaining medieval towns almost intact, if you're a fan of Middle Ages here are some compulsory places to visit:

Corinaldo

A Medieval city famous for its 15th century fortifications, 1 km long and practically intact defense walls.

Gradara

A Charming place, where one can visit the Malatesta castle scene of tragic love story between Paolo and Francesca.

Arcevia

A town that consists of 8 medieval castles: Castiglioni, Palazzo, Caudino, Piticchio, Montale, San Pietro, Loretello e Nidastore.

Offagna

A medieval town that is the scene of an important medieval festival, from 17th to 24th July with music, poetry, stands, jugglers and minstrels.
